Kelp Social Platform Rules

Introduction

We love everything about helping people to celebrate and promote a cruelty free lifestyle, conservation and animal rights issues. But we know that this comes with responsibility.

Whilst we support a diverse mix of public conversations and content on our platform, we are well aware that harassment, threats of violence and other types of unacceptable behaviour discourage our primary aim:

To encourage positive public debate and a conversation that supports conservation issues and animal welfare and rights.

To keep everyone safe we have created a set of easy-to-understand rules that promote behaviours that support a positive user experience on Kelp Social.

User Safety

  1. Graphic, violent or adult content – The very nature of the conversations that take place on Kelp Social may necessitate the use of media which includes images, video, gifs and other forms of media format that may show the effects and results of animal cruelty. Using Kelp Social, you are bound by the need to ensure that any media or content you share on the platform conforms to our strict policy that limits the use of graphic images that may cause offensive.
  2. Hate Inspired Content – Kelp Social do not accept any content that depicts or promotes violence or discrimination against other people or other users on the basis of race, gender, gender identity, religion, age, disability, disease, ethnicity or national origin.
  3. Child sexual exploitation – Kelp will never tolerate any content that condones or depicts child sexual exploitation or the general exploitation of children whatsoever.
  4. Suicide or self-harming – you may not promote or share anything associated with suicide or self-harming.
  5. Violence – Threats or the suggestion of violence against another user, the Kelp Social community, an individual, group, company or other entity, are not allowed in any form.
  6. Violent Extremism and/or Terrorism – We do not allow the promotion or threats of terrorism or extremism.
  7. Promotion of services – You may not promote, sell or distribute illegal products and services or those deemed restricted in whatever country you interact with Kelp and its users.
  8. Be kind – Kelp Social ask that all users conduct themselves in a kind and considerate manner at all times.

User Privacy

We take everyone’s privacy very seriously at Kelp Social, so we have created this list of things that are do not accept:

  1. You must not share other people’s private information, which includes their address, telephone numbers, emails or login’s.
  2. We also do not tolerate threats to expose the above to others.
  3. Do not share images or other content that depicts full or partial nudity of others were consent by the person or persons depicted in it has not been granted.

Content Authenticity

Kelp Social promote the use of authentic content, so it is important that users understand the following:

  1. You may not impersonate individuals, brands, companies or other organisations or institutions. This includes anything that could mislead or deceive others.
  2. Manipulating Kelp Social to transmit or suppress information that could confuse or cause users to have a diminished experience of Kelp Social is not allowed.
  3. Users must never post content of any form that has fake, synthetic or manipulated and changed elements that could cause users and anyone else to take action based on it.
  4. Civic responsibility – users must not use Kelp Social to share content that could alter outcomes of elections or any other national or international civic processes.
  5. Trademark or copyright infringement – Users must not violate the intellectual property rights of others. This includes all copyrights and trademarks regardless of territory.

Enforcement and Appeals

Kelp Social will enforce these user rules at all times to ensure the safety of our community and the integrity of our platform.

You may appeal any removal or restriction that may include your account removal from Kelp Social for breaching these rules by getting in touch at hello@kelpsocial.co.uk.

Clearly state your username and full personal details and the reason for the appeal. All appeals are usually heard within 30 days.

 

Third-party advertising in all content

At Kelp Social we want to promote products and services that are helpful to our community.

We provide clear advertising opportunities for brands and users.

This means you must not post videos or graphic content that promotes third party advertising without Kelps prior consent.

 

Updates to these Rules

Kelp Social will from time to time update these rules without prior notice.

Continued use of Kelp Social is allowed on the understanding you accept these rules as part of the services set out in the User Terms.
